Volt Delta International, a subsidiary of U.S.-based Volt Information Sciences, has leased space in a London data center in order to support growing demand for its hosted call center solutions.
More specifically Volt Delta has leased 5,000 square meters of space at Powergate, TelecityGroup’s latest London data center in Acton.
According to a press release, the data center provides 4 kilowatts (kW) of customer power per rack, standard, which is more than twice the current industry average. At the same time TelecityGroup is taking the lead on data center energy conservation – about 10 percent of the data center’s power comes from renewable energy – and the company is reportedly the first data center operator in Europe to sign up to the new EU Code of Conduct for data centers and is also a member of the Green Grid.
The ISO 9001:2000-compliant data center sports back-up power, air conditioning and the latest fire detection and suppression systems. In addition the facility is highly secure, with 24x7 monitoring and card based and biometric access systems.
The new data center offers interconnection to a majority of the major telecoms operators. Tenants also benefit from the presence of LINX, the London Internet Exchange, offering global peering and further connectivity options.
Volt Delta will use the site to expand its hosted call center solutions -- including a wide range of hosted speech self-service options.
Volt Delta made news last week when its sister company, LSSi Europe Ltd., a subsidiary of U.S.-based
LSSiData, and part of
VoltDelta Resources LLC and Volt Information Sciences,
announced that it is now furnishing telephone subscriber information for Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania to its directory assistance provider customers. That means directory assistance service providers in the region have access to up-to-date telephone subscriber data that can be used to deliver fast and accurate directory service.
